The Lapels: Gem-Set Solid Copper Collar

A true centrepiece of the collection, The Lapels blends architectural form with detailed artisan textures. This design was born from a desire to combine the bold, clean lines of a structured collar with the delicate, shimmering detail of hand-woven gemstones.

The Design

Inspired by the sharp, elegant lines of a classic lapel, this collar features a unique geometric silhouette that frames the neck with precision. To create a stunning, multi-tonal finish, I have hand-set coppery-coloured Hematite beads within the copper framework.

Each bead is meticulously secured with wire and incorporated into the intricate copper wire swirls, creating a rich, woven texture that demands a closer look. The metallic lustre of the hematite perfectly complements the warm glow of the copper, resulting in a piece that feels both ancient and cutting-edge.

In keeping with the spirit of the collection, The Lapels features a completely claspless design. This allows the collar to sit flush against the body, accentuating the shoulders without the distraction of a heavy fastening. The solid copper is forged to provide the perfect amount of “spring,” ensuring it is easy to put on while maintaining its sculptural shape throughout the day.
